Little Notes is an evening music class for babies, toddlers, and the grownups who love them, made right here in Northwest Seattle.
We believe the best way for a little one to fall in love with music is simply to make a lot of it. So every week we gather for forty five minutes of singing, instruments, movement, and a healthy amount of happy chaos. Our classes are led by real musicians and built around the things that actually help children grow into music, repetition, rhythm, and the plain joy of making sound together. We keep them small and local on purpose, so every family feels like part of the circle and every child gets to be seen.
Our songs travel a little, too. Alongside familiar favorites, you will hear tunes in Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese woven through the year, a small way to fill those early ears with the sounds and rhythms of the wider world. It is one of our favorite parts of class, and the kids do not even notice they are learning.
We hold our classes in the evening and weekends so the whole family can be there together. It is the rare class that fits everyone's schedule, and it has quietly become our favorite part of the week. We think it might become yours too.
We are a small, family run business, built by people who love this neighborhood and love watching little ones light up when the music starts. We would be so glad to have you and your little one join us.
About the Founders
Little Notes was started by Sean and Briana, two parents raising our own little one right here in the neighborhood.
It really began with our daughter. At eighteen months old, she found her way to a music class, and watching her light up, clapping, swaying, completely lost in the joy of it, we understood something. This was good stuff. We wanted her to keep chasing it, and we wanted other families to have the same thing close to home.
So we built Little Notes around the kind of musical childhood we hope for her. One that does not stay in a single room or a single sound, but keeps growing. Briana spent seven years living in Brazil, and that love of global cultures runs all through our songs, a way to fill little ears with the rhythms of a wider world. We love taking class outside into the parks in summer, trading new instruments and new surroundings so the wonder never wears off.
And we built it for the whole family. We hold class in the evening on purpose, so no one has to miss it, so the working caregiver(s) gets to sit in the circle too. That is the part we care about most. The best moments of your kid's day should be ones you get to be there for.
We are so glad you are here, and we cannot wait to make music with your family.
Meet Our Teachers
Sadie (she/her)
She grew up in a family that played music together. She'd learn songs on long car rides, celebrate her holidays with instruments, and take her family band to the stage at summer camps. She bounced scat off others, connected to her heritage, and passed the time by learning formal musical fundamentals. When she became an early childhood educator in 2012, she discovered a great joy in being musical with young children and their families. She looks forward to building community with you and your little ones.
Alyosha Caparelli (he/him)
Being in a constant state of play himself as a musician, playwright, and juggler, Aly brings an abundance of energy and joy into his work teaching children. He is excited to give an exciting musical experience kids can carry with them their whole lives.
